Painting Memories
with Alisa Clark

In this series of 2 ECVA Conversations, artist Alisa Clark will lead participants in a rich, interactive workshop.

The process of reflecting on memories and experiencing the emotions they evoke lets us see hope in our past, present, and future. Making something great is not the point. The point is all about how it makes us feel, the opportunity to express and share the feelings, and the way we find God and His hope in our forms of personal expression. We remember it, we feel it, and then create it. This is good. We can thank God every day for His gift of creative process. Without it, our memories and feelings would be less free. Without the opportunity to share our creations with each other, we are more alone in our experience. We can experience greater joy in taking opportunities to remember, share, and find God in this process.

Day 1: Examples of sharing memories through artistic expression, quotes and inspirations about reflecting on our past through creative process, journaling about a memory to share, encouragement to make a creation based on “Day 1 Journaling” to share on “Day 2”.

Day 2: Examples of sharing memories through artistic expression, quotes and inspirations about reflecting on our past through creative process, sharing creations based on “Day 1 Journaling”
