Artist Statement
Making art encourages us to meet greater challenges with creativity.
Layered, overlapped spaces, circles, loops, and intersecting lines in my paintings are spontaneous gestures of intuition and imagination. The creative process allows me to uncover my subject’s quirks and questions.
I have always put my faith in questions. For me, painting is a reminder that ordinary subjects are worthy of loving attention. Making art is an active expression of my gratitude for the mystery and beauty of life.
