Artist Statement
A handwriting fanatic, Beverly Womack has practiced lettering daily for years. Her versatile and ever-evolving calligraphic styles have produced hundreds of one-off and reproducible artworks. Most recently, she has expanded to mixed media, including acrylic, metal-leafing, and collage.
An active member of the Southern California Society for Calligraphy, she has exhibited mostly scripture-centered artwork at Chapman University, The Muzeo of Anaheim, Whittier Library, and various Orange County galleries and venues, as well as Portland OR, Metuchen NJ, and Clearwater FL.
Beverly teaches, demonstrate, facilitates and mentors calligraphy workshops in local schools, libraries, cultural centers, community youth facilities, and in her home studio.
