Why register?
When you become a member of The Artists Registry @ ECVA, you become a visible
member of the ECVA community. By listing your web site, e-mail address, and
samples of your art you introduce yourself to this community. Membership also
allows you to participate in Calls for ECVA exhibitions. The registry offers you
the opportunity to know other ECVA artists. This participation, this knowing and
being known, is at the heart of creating a community of context and meaning.
I'm confused about some of the fields on the
membership form, especially "organization" and "web site." Must I fill in every
blank?
Only the fields highlighted with a red asterisk must be filled in.
"Organization" refers ONLY to groups registering in the Cathedrals,
Congregations, Chapters, and Groups category. Artists registering as
individuals should leave this field blank.
"Web Site" refers to a web site which displays your art.
How do I get my images to you? What size should my
images be? Must they be square?
You can insert your images easily while filling in the form. Please note that
image resolution should be 72 pixels per inch and no more than 110 pixels on the
longest side.
How do I participate in ECVA's exhibitions?
A Call for Entries is issued approximately two months before an exhibition.
This Call contains the Curator's statement about the exhibition theme as well as
the details for submitting entries to be considered for the exhibition. When the
Call is issued, it is posted at the ECVA web site, and remains posted until the
next Call is issued. After the Curator makes selections for an exhibition, a
letter is sent to all artists who submitted entries for consideration which
lists the selected works/artists. When the exhibition is formally launched, it
is announced in an ECVA newsletter, and a link to the exhibition is placed on
ECVA's home page.
