About
I always knew I wanted to be an artist, falling into watercolor painting quite naturally until a photography segment in my commercial art program. I enjoyed spending time in the darkroom available to me in high school, watching images develop and learning about the traditional film process first hand. I shoots with Nikon digital equipment but still uses the old manual lens and bellows system for my macro work.
I grew up in the city of Cleveland Ohio so it seemed natural to attend college in a city environment. Having attended a very large high school I sought out a small art school to attend. I found that in Cincinnati Ohio at Antonelli Institute of Art and Photography.
I met my husband Robert, who has the same love for photography. We married and moved to Northern Kentucky where we opened a studio specializing in weddings and portraits, Masterworks Photography, which we have owned for over 20 years. When we moved to a home with woods and a field, I was in my element. My photography takes place after our three sons go to school in the morning, when the light is just right. Nature photography has always been an outlet for me. Growing up in the city I would seek out the green. I would always find the flower in the warehouse.
My faith guides me.
I see God everywhere.
I see Him in the way the sun shines through the leaves of the trees.
I see Him in the smallest things and ways.
Early in the morning as the sun begins to rise, I can usually be found out in the woods behind our house stalking dew drops. I love to photograph the little details that most people do not see, such as the detail of a flower petal or a spider web in the grass covered in morning dew. I shoot nature in an abstract way. I also photograph macro subjects no larger than ¼ of an inch.
