Artist Statement
I enjoy using standard and wide angle lenses and standing really close to my subjects so that all the shapes and colors show. But a long lense can wonderfully depict an outdoor landscape's broad story. In each case, I try not to fuss with lights or filters AFTER the image is in the camera. I intend to capture and share what I saw, not what I imagined. I am happy when I do photography, and did not realize this was a calling until I noticed that I always smile when I do this work. My wish is to bless others through my work. It is a blessing to take direction and assignment from others, so I do really enjoy commissioned work. Also, it is marvelous fun to envision how my work can be used by the Church.
